Trail & ultra training · iPhone

Plan the race.
Run the plan.

OffTrail builds your training around the race you actually picked: the distance, the climbs, the terrain. Every session lands on your calendar; the predictor reads your real runs and your real course.

Requires iOS 26. Imports runs from COROS, Garmin, Apple Watch and Strava through Apple Health, or straight from a FIT file.

OffTrail's Today screen: a hill-repeat session, the week's mileage, days to race
What it does

A calendar-first coach that knows what a 50K with 6,000 ft of climbing costs.

Not a generic plan with a race pasted on the end. Volume, long runs, back-to-backs, hill work and the taper are shaped by your distance and terrain.

CAL

Plans on your calendar

Day-level sessions with build, recovery and taper weeks already placed. Tap a day, see the workout, log it when it's done.

PRED

A predictor that reads your training

Finish range from your logged runs, not one typed PR. Import the course GPX and it prices every climb, the altitude and the descent fatigue.

HR

Zones your way

Seven heart-rate methods: % of max, heart-rate reserve, Friel 5 and 7, 80/20, MAF, or your own bounds. Calibrate from a field test or Apple Health.

ACWR

Training load that warns you

Banister TRIMP with 7- and 28-day loads. Sweet spot, caution and high-risk, shown on Today before you head out.

FIT

FIT files and maps

Share a FIT file from COROS or Garmin and it's in your log with heart rate, climb and the route drawn on Apple Maps.

FUEL

Fueling and pacing

Carbs per hour from your weight and effort, a 10-km pacing plan from the course, and splits for any distance.

Built for ultras

Distances to 100 miles. Grades the model has actually seen.

Most predictors stop at the marathon and treat climb as a vibe. OffTrail converts every segment of a course into equivalent flat distance using the metabolic cost of grade, then adjusts for altitude, descent fatigue and aid-station time.

  • 5K, 10K, half, marathon, 50K, 50 mi, 100K, 100 mi, or any custom distance
  • GPX import with elevation smoothing and major-climb detection
  • Personal uphill and downhill factors learned from your own trail runs
  • Prediction range and confidence, with the reasoning shown
1.51×energy cost of running at +8 % grade vs flat (Minetti)
0.655×cost at −8 %, before descent fatigue
1.06–1.15Riegel exponent, personalised from your endurance
0.8–1.3acute : chronic load sweet spot

For coaches

Your methodology, applied to every athlete.

Answer a short set of questions once: intensity model, long-run day, build-to-recovery cycle, taper length, hill work, back-to-backs. OffTrail turns it into a methodology profile and generates plans the way you would.

  • Free for coaches. Athletes find you by invite code or get matched on goal, terrain and style.
  • Roster view with each athlete's week, compliance and next race
  • Plan templates per distance, laid onto the athlete's calendar
